Dear Collective,
This month I am using the Dark Goddess Tarot by Ellen Lorenzi-Prince, because a) I love this deck, and b) from the four options on my table, nearly all my clients chose to use this deck last month. The Goddesses speak!
This month’s questions are:
What do we need to be less nostalgic about?
What is the direction that will serve us best?
What else do we need to consider?
What needs our most careful attention?
Let’s begin!
1. What do we need to be less nostalgic about?
The World ~ Coatlicue
Perhaps the Collective needs to stop talking about the World as if I am already lost. Why be nostalgic about what already exists? Why reminisce about other times in this life cycle that seemed to be much easier? Perhaps it was easier for you, but most definitely not for all. Why not escape from the mire of nostalgia and fight to make sure this world remains in the ‘Goldilocks zone’ – not too hot, not too cold – where we can manage to live with access to fresh air, water and earth that resembles its natural state? Why be nostalgic about the end of old, tired and outdated modes of living? Instead, why not connect with the beginnings to come, beginnings that start with paying careful attention to our collective decisions so that we stop harming each other for the sake of a few moments of mindless ease.
2. What is the direction that will serve us best?
Four of Fire ~ Kamui Fuchi
The direction of stability will serve us best. The direction of honouring who built up and fought for our communities before we arrived in the bodies we live in now. The direction of remembering how important the home is, and how we must honour each other’s desire to have safe space to rest and recharge in – even if some of those homes look different to how we might personally envision them. This planet is vast and the people within it have unique and personal ways of connecting with space. So be curious about what we learn from each other, and face a direction together that embodies the collective desires for peaceful havens, rather than accepting the harshness and brutality that we are told to swallow without question.
3. What else do we need to consider?
Amazon of Air ~ Skadi
Consider being direct and clear, wise and insightful. Consider changing things that don’t feel quite right, and try to make those transformations with as much honest and heartfelt communication as you can muster. Consider rising above all that has previously got you down – instead of wallowing in the mess, keep moving as best you can, holding your intention as precisely as possible. This doesn’t necessarily guarantee success, but it does promise a deeper connection with what you really love.
4. What needs our most careful attention?
The Lovers ~ Freya
Our soft and attentive collective heart. If your heart is not feeling soft and attentive right now, strive to find places where you might be able to access that quality. Do you feel soft and attentive when with certain people, certain animals, maybe certain plants, trees or landscapes? There is so much noise and so much judgement in the world – we owe it to ourselves to discover new ways of finding tranquility and love whenever possible. The noise and the judgements will continue, but if we carefully maintain our softness, then we will have more than enough fuel to face any inept administrations with creative verve and luminosity.
